STX PUTTERS WEIGHS IN WITH NEW SYNC TOUR PRO
BALTIMORE, MD., November 17, 2004 — At a time when people are trying to lose a few pounds, and low-carb diets are the fad, STX Putters is confident that putting on weight is the right way to go.
STX has added 14 grams — 1/2 ounce — to its popular and highly-successful Sync Tour putter to create the new Sync Tour Pro. The weight gain is behind the center of the face balanced putter. STX started with the Sync Tour model and expanded the circumference of the bullet. The change is very subtle to the eye, but there's nothing subtle about the putter's performance.
"By increasing the weight behind the center of the putter it creates a lower center of gravity and gives a better performance for that style of putter," says Greg Fudge, Director of Sales for STX Putters.
"By making the bullet a little heavier, the putter carries through the stroke rather than the golfer having to push through, "adds Fudge. "It improves both control and consistency."
Golfers will be elated with the Sync Tour Pro's new finish, which combines gunmetal with a touch of brown to create a sienna color surface. The finish is rich and smooth. It emanates quality. A different lie angle also enhances the Sync Tour Pro's performance. By changing the angle to 18 degrees, from 19 degrees in the Sync Tour, the putter is able to attain more of a pendulum-type motion. The loft is 3 degrees, the same as the Sync Tour.
The Sync Tour Pro comes in black (soft) or red (medium firmness) faces. It also features a True Temper shaft and a Winn grip. Available in right-hand models only in lengths from 32 to 36 inches. The Sync Tour Pro has a MSRP of $160.
