SCOTT McCARRON JOINS STX GOLF
Baltimore, MD - April 27, 2001 - STX Golf's National Sales Manager, Greg Fudge, announced today that PGA Tour player, Scott McCarron, has joined the company's professional staff and has signed a two-year endorsement contract to play STX putters exclusively.
"STX Golf is pleased to welcome Scott to our professional staff, and we congratulate him on his recent PGA Tour win at the BellSouth Classic at the TPC at Sugarloaf in Duluth, Georgia. " Fudge said. "Scott is playing extremely well and we are thrilled to add him to the team staff at STX Golf.
McCarron putted his way to victory at the BellSouth Classic, sealing the win by rolling in a 40 foot birdie on the 16th hole with his STX Sync 3 putter, featuring STX's proprietary Greeny technology. McCarron's, long-handled STX Sync 3 putter features a center-bullet weighted sweet spot, 10 degree lie, and two degrees of loft.
McCarron has consistently ranked among the top players for putting statistics on the PGA Tour. He is currently ranked #1 in overall player statistics and #16 in earnings. Scott captured his first PGA Tour victory at the '96 Freeport McDermott Classic. The very next year, he won the 1997 BellSouth Classic - also at TPC Sugarloaf - beating David Duval and Lee Janzen by three strokes.
STX Golf introduced the first patented insert putter in the early 80's. Since that time, the company has consistently led the industry in implementing new standards of innovation, while conforming to USGA rules. STX Golf's full line of putters can be viewed online at www.stxgolf.com.
